Location...

Bridge End is very easy to find in the quiet village of Braithwaite, just off the A66, heading west from Keswick to Cockermouth, in Cumbria. We are only 20 minutes from Junction 40 of the M6 motorway.

Directions from East - M6 and A66(Penrith):

1. Take J40 of the M6 motorway at Penrith.
2. Follow on A66 West towards Keswick.
3. Follow A66 for 18 miles and follow Keswick bypass to a large roundabout.
4. At the roundabout, take 2nd exit, signposted Cockermouth and Braithwaite.
5. Follow for 3 miles and take 1st turnoff for Braithwaite village.
6. Pass Scotgate Holiday Park on left, and the Royal Oak pub on left again.
7. Road narrows and does sharp left, then right.
8. Small bridge on left - note sign for Coledale Inn.
9. Turn left over Bridge and Bridge End is directly ahead.

Directions from South (Windermere):

1. Take J36 off the M6 motorway, and follow the A591 towards Windermere.
2. Follow same road through Windermere, Ambleside, all the way to the outskirts of Keswick.
3. As the road drops down into Keswick town centre, take a right - signposted for the A66 and Penrith - floral display "Welcome to Keswick" on left.
4. Follow signs onto A66 westbound for Cockermouth.
5. Follow instructions from (4).

Directions from North (Cockermouth):

1. Take A66 towards Keswick for 10 miles.
2. Take first Braithwaite signposted turn-off on right, just beyond end of Bassenthwaite Lake.
3. Follow into village itself, until T-junction - Royal Oak Inn opposite.
4. Turn right and follow from (7) above.
